The location of this hotel couldn't be better, right across Kumamoto Station. It's super convenient for traveling and finding something to eat. Plus, the hostel is well-kept and clean, with excellent bathrooms that are spotless. The beds, although bunk beds, provide a sense of privacy with their individual curtains, making it feel like having your own private space.

That it could get a bit too warm to sleep comfortably with so many people in the same big shared room.

This hotel is conveniently located across from the train station that makes it a great place to stay in the city. the views from the rooms are amazing and there are facilities for leisure activities like a social room that a lot of travelers like. the room service is good and the breakfast is amazing.

There is only one negative aspect of the hotel, and that is the limited eating area in general.

We had an amazing romantic escape at this hotel! the front desk staff were very welcoming and accommodating. We loved the excellent location near the train station and shopping centers but without the noise. the comfortable bed and clean bathrooms are a plus! We also enjoyed access to laundry facilities and the convenient storage room for our luggage.

The walls separating each room are not soundproof, making it easy to hear noise from the next room. the top bunks were too high and difficult to climb up, making lower bunks a better choice for some guests.

This hotel is a hidden gem just across the street from the train station. With its convenient location, it's the ideal base for exploring the city. The attention to detail in the rooms, with just a curtain as a door, adds a unique touch to the overall experience. Additionally, the staff are friendly and the basic amenities provided ensure a comfortable stay.

No major issues, all was perfect.

The receptionist at Hotel The Gate Kumamoto kindly reminded us to set our cellphones to vibrate mode, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The location, right next to the train station, was incredibly convenient for exploring the city. The dorm beds provided excellent privacy, thanks to separate entrances and bunk beds that blocked the view of others. The common area was comfortable and relaxed, perfect for hanging out. I highly recommend this hotel for its helpful staff and great amenities.

The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, just a short walk from the train station. This made it easy for me to explore the city without having to worry about transportation. Additionally, the facilities were modern and well-maintained. The automatic washing machine and dryer were a great feature, allowing me to freshen up my clothes during my stay. Lastly, the staff were friendly and always greeted me with a smile, making me feel welcome throughout my trip.

There were a few downsides to my stay. One issue was the noise level in the sleeping area.

This hotel is a great value for money. You get free pyjamas, toothpaste, and towels which is a nice gesture. It is located near public transport, making it easy to explore the city. the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The lounge area is an ideal place to relax and socialize with a bar, which was a plus.

The eating area was not comfortable, and the smoking room and laundry room combine to create an unpleasant smell. This could be a turnoff for some.
